Land and Special Operations Center Korea (LANDSOC-K) was established about two years ago by eight members.
Among the eight, BG(R) Kim YD represents LANDSOC-K as President. LTG(R) CHUN, IB serves as the Advisor. The other six Directors are dedicated civilians who have a passion for military subjects; history, technology, weapons etc. We are military nerds and proud of it.
LANDSOC-K believes that with the reduction of service for conscripts, the only way to ensure a capable land force is through Korea's elite troops; Special Forces, Scout and Commando units, ROK Marine Scout units, SWAT, SEALs etc. This would be about 35 K.
We believe an individual must know what he is fighting for + physically fit + equipped with the right stuff + trained + and lead by example to win. We are focused on these areas.
LANDSOC-K is especially pushing for better equipment for the individual soldier; small arms, ammunition, the full array of individual clothing and gear (helmets, bullet resistant vests, goggles, etc), first aid and training, small unit communication and overall C4I, explosives, drones and cyber and electronic devices for the individual soldier and infil/exfil assets.
All of this coincides with the ROK Army's Warrior Platform program; an equipment upgrade for the individual soldier.
